The investigators inexplicably did not mention this texbook in their conspicuously sparse and biased literature review of wide lanes.

Critique of FHWA BL vs. WCL Study is a review of A Comparative Analysis of Bicycle Lanes Versus Wide Curb Lanes: Final Report (FHWA-RD-99-034), and Bicycle Lanes vs Wide Curb Lanes: Operational & Safety Findings and Countermeasure Recommendations (FHWA-RD-99-035), reports written by the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Faulty research methodology, misrepresentation of data, contradictory evidence unreported, under-emphasized, or unexplained, and unsupported conclusions are among the problems that render this research invalid.
